1 minute rrd traffic test with iperf

Hello there,

I am testing how iperf behave with cacti - weathermap

I am struggling to interpret if results I have in this thread is regular normal issue.

To sum up, I use Iperf to fill the link between two nodes, once bandwidth is measured correctly I manually stop the Iperf (ctrl + Z)

It takes some extra cycles ( 2 -3 minutes) for the graph to report no traffic anymore

I was wondering what explain this progressive descent with intermediate landings ?

If you are using iperf to update a .rrd file, then yes, this kind of thing is expected. rrdtool averages data over time.

However, if you don't need Cacti to make graphs (sounds like no), then Weathermap can read from other datasources than just rrdtool files. You could just write the data to a text file and use that directly, for example. Check out the TARGET section in the manual.
